need supportViews: 377

Just moved to ABQ area about 1.5 years ago so I really have no support system and find this a lonely difficult journey. My dear friends are back east and stay in touch via email. So, any comments, support i would appreciate. Waiting for CT results to see if R/Chop is working. Feeling a lot of distention in Abdomen. Not sure what that means. The monster is in the waiting. Did anyone have to change treatment course because it was not working?

Just offering support…..
The journey is just that, one step at a time.
Changes sometimes have to be made. Try to deal with it when it comes.
When we spend time worrying about what could be it takes away the energy needed to heal.
I know it is easier to say than do.
But it really is important in healing.
Just focus on your breathing when you start to think and worry.
it helped me

Thanks for your support….Wondering how folks are doing with working? I am on FML for 3 months and hope I have the energy to get back to work. If, not, is there financial support anywhere.

Hi, Teresa,, my name is Raymond Ouellette and I wish to be one of your supporters…
First let me tell you a bit about myself..
I was diagnosed with lung and lymp node cancer on jan 23, 2006,, today is june 7, 2008,, Anyway i wish to share with you what it meant for me to find out what it did for me,,, When I was told that I had cancer,, well I guess that i was no different from anyone else.. I was angry about it but only for 2 days.. Why only 2 days??? Well on the 3rd day i had a vision on Jesus dying on the cross and Him looking up to heaven and saying “Father why have you abandoned me,, but not my will but your will be done.. and truly a miracle happened that day because it showed me what I must do if this cancer was to be beaten..
I must do exactly what Jesus had did and that was to turn it over to God and leave there with Him and not try to take it back and say O i can do it myself.. because self would not be able to do it
Maybe i was real fortunate, to be able to do that
but i don’t see why other people cannot do the same

Hi Teresa! I’m a Theresa too! It sounds like you are kind of like me, a visual person. Lately I have been reading a lot about guided imagery. I have learned that it is important to have an image of those cancer cells going away. maybe this could be helpful to you? As far as needing to change treatment. I have just started a new chemo regimen. Of course I hope it is successful, but am encouraged to know that because of advances there are often others that can be explored if one is not successful. I have breast cancer so my expereinces may be a little different, but so many of those scared feelings are proably the same. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way! Take care!

Hi Teresa Ialso was just told I have follicular B Cell NHL just went through 4 Rituxun treatments I never feel good fatigue, depressed, dont sleep dont
eat much I had Biopsy in april had to have left overy and tube removed also gall bladder before i started treatment now i go back to the doctor this wednesday to see what the next step is more rituxn or what?? it is scary but i have a very strong faith i pray all the time i beleive in god
he will help all of us get through anything please take care i’ll comment you again and i’ll pray for you also Marie

hey teresa, there is nothing worst then feeling alone,,, we all have been throught that in one stage or another but while you are on here some people have choosen to be your friend and your support… I would greatly tell you to use them,, don’t think that you are a burden to them because your not,, we have all had cancer in one form or another and it is not a great thing… So my advise to you is to get to make friends with the people who support you.. I can guarantee you that they will never replace the close friends that you have back east,, but you had to move so let yourself move on also… your friends from back east will always be your friends but the people that have choosen to support you are awaiting for you to respond and to get in touch with them… It will great help your situation
God bless we we shall keep on praying for you just as i trust that you shall be praying for all of us…. Take care and take advantage of the people who support you…. Your friend and supporter… Ray
